The latest global university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings were released in June 2025. One of the indicators assessed in the rankings is the university’s ability to produce work-ready graduates. The QS World University Rankings 2026 assesses more than 1,500 higher education institutions across various countries. All institutions are assessed based on performance indicators grouped into five focus areas.

The five focus indicators for the QS World University Rankings 2026 assessment are:

1. Research & Discovery (weighted 50%)
2. Learning Experience (10%)
3. Employability (20%)
4. Global Engagement (15%)
5. Sustainability (5%)

The “Employability” indicator, or employability and outcomes, includes two main points: employer reputation (ER) and employment outcomes (EO). Both generally assess how well a university prepares its graduates for employment.

In the employer reputation section, universities are assessed based on the perspectives of employers (industry), for example, how quickly graduates are absorbed into the job market.

Meanwhile, the employment outcomes section measures the extent to which a university can produce graduates with the best employability skills. This can be seen from the track record of graduates and their impact on society.
