COMPULSORY CONCENTRATION COURSES

RESEARCH AND EVALUATION OF PUBLIC RELATIONS/PUBLIC RELATIONS RESEARCH AND EVALUATION (3 SKS)

This course aims to prepare students to write a thesis at the Masters level and train them to be able to conduct or evaluate research as part of their career in the field of communication management. The theoretical component of this course introduces the philosophy of quantitative and qualitative research and provides a broad understanding of basic research methods. The practical component is developing skills in reading and writing research and critical thinking, problem definition, data collection and data analysis.

APPLIED COMMUNICATION THEORY (3 SKS)

This course provides students with an understanding of: Types of theory starting from a contextual perspective, interpersonal communication theory, group communication theory, the effect of mass communication on individuals, the influence of mass communication on society and culture, audience and its influence on mass communication, and organizational communication from a theoretical perspective.

PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGIC PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGEMENT (3 SKS)

This course provides students with an understanding of: PR a strategic management function, PR in organizational context, Positioning PR in organizational management, Budgeting, Control and Evaluation, Latest trend of PR development, Strategic PR management in C-suite, PR in dominant coalition , and Case studies – PR in different organizations.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/PR PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING PLANNING AND PROGRAM (3 Credits)

This course provides a discussion of aspects of planning and implementing and managing public relations programs starting from planning steps, short-term and long-term public relations programs, organizing, audience recognition, determining media, press relations and supervision as well as evaluating the implementation of public relations in strategic management framework so that it will provide skills to students in managing public relations work programs properly in business, profit and government organizations.

RISK, PROBLEMS AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT/RISK, PROBLEMS AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT (3 SKS)

The course will describe various aspects related to problem identification, risk and crisis management. In this course students will be oriented towards achieving systematic, comprehensive and critical thinking in applying management concepts to initial identification and organized reactions in influencing public policy processes. proactive, anticipatory and planned risk management designed to influence the development of a risk before it develops to a stage requiring crisis management
